The UK's new £1 coin - designed by a 15-year-old boy - will depict a Welsh leek and an English rose.
David Pearce's design for the new coin - which will be the same shape as the old 12-sided threepenny bit - was picked from more than 6,000 entries, and will be struck in 2017.
The Walsall youngster's design also includes a Scottish thistle and an Irish shamrock emerging from a royal coronet.
Chancellor George Osborne said that the coin will be the most secure coin in circulation anywhere due to its bi-metallic construction and the Royal Mint's new state-of-the-art anti-counterfeiting technology.
