Nature's Pride downs roots

Nature’s Pride celebrated the official opening of its new buildings at the Honderdland business park in Maasdijk in the Netherlands this week with guided tours of the building for 650 suppliers, customers, staff and other visitors and a party.

The occasion also spelt the end of a difficult period, after a fire destroyed the company’s premises in De Lier at the end of last year.

Visitors were treated to a viewing of all the facilities of the new complex, which covers a floor space of 10,000m2 and features six ripening chambers allowing for different gas, temperature and air-humidity regulation regimes, five packing lines and 18 loading and unloading bays.

The company already handles more than 300 different exotic and tropical lines and welcomed guests from 24 different countries.

The new building brings Nature’s Pride’s Dutch operations under one roof from four different sites. “Now that we have our new warehouse with up-to-date facilities, packing lines and ripening rooms we are able to supply more products to an increasing number of clients,” said a spokeswoman for the company. “Although growth is not a goal itself, it comes when clients are satisfied with quality-produce. We want to supply a wide range of clients, such as wholesalers, exporters, caterers and supermarkets.”
