Premium wholesaler Natoora has appointed former vice president of technology at research firm Nielsen Jacopo Arpesani to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.
The company said Arpesani’s appointment comes at a “pivotal moment” in its plans for expansion, with his responsibilities covering innovation in supply and scaling the business using technology.
During his time with Nielsen, based in Chicago, Arpesani led a team of several hundred in building new data platforms. His previous experience includes operations, software development, project management and IT.
“We are laying the foundations to make Natoora a pioneer in the cross-section of food and technology,” said Arpesani. “Using the right systems, we can shorten our supply chain, individualise orders and significantly reduce non-conformities – all with the aim to better serve our customers.
Natoora chief executive Franco Fubini said the company is looking to develop an innovative and flexible supply chain that “adapts to the particularities of the product”.
“Under Jacopo’s guidance, I am confident we can use technology to build a supply chain that helps us bring better-tasting fruit & vegetables to everyone,” he said.
