Musgrave Retail Partners GB has set its sights on store development, the principal aim being improving specifications, developing brands and cutting costs.

This division of the Musgrave Group, which operates Budgens and Londis stores in the UK, is keen to introduce new processes such as a web-based management system, as well as more energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration.

After a year-long testing process of cabinet refrigeration, Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) standards have now been met, and following a review of the supplier base model, cost per unit reduced by 30 per cent.

Musgrave Retail Partners GB has extended the idea of energy saving and cost cutting to lighting and fascias. By using the latest technology, not only has a 25 per cent cost reduction been achieved, but also light output is cut down by 20 per cent, reflecting the company’s attitude to environmental issues

Jemima Bird, Musgrave Retail Partners GB marketing director, said: “The team have worked closely with manufacturers and suppliers to get the best-in-class products, while giving our retailers opportunities for cost savings.”
