Musgrave Retail Partners GB has appointed Willie Hamilton to the position of trading director.

Hamilton joins Musgrave, who works with Budgens and Londis amongst others, from Tesco, where he has worked for 24 years. For the last three years he has been commercial director for Tesco Express, experience and insight which Musgrave hope will benefit their long-term strategies.

Hamilton is currently on gardening leave from Tesco and plans to join Musgrave in March 2009. In the meantime, Andy Batchelor will continue to lead the Musgrave Retail Partners GB trading function on an interim basis and will stay to provide Hamilton with a robust hand-over.
