A growers leader in the south-eastern Spanish region of Murcia is calling for a quality label to add value to fresh produce exports from the area.
Alfonso Gálvez Caravaca, secretary general of Asaja Murcia said: “Despite good quality, this season is not progressing as happily as we had hoped. We need to reduce our production costs and generate added value in the fields of Murcia, whatever it takes, for that it is very important that we make our production more profitable. It is of utmost importance that we introduce a quality marque to communicate the good practice of our fruit and vegetable growers and especially to support the superb quality of our products.”
