English growers hit the road this week aboard a converted ice-cream van.
The Mr Pippy tour kicked off as the specially adapted vehicle took to the streets of London to hand out apples to the unsuspecting public.
Kent growers Peter Chandler and John Hinchcliff were onboard at the start of the campaign, which will see different growers taking part every day during the tour of the UK.
The promotion, organised by Worldwide Fruit, marketers Arbor and English Apples & Pears, is aimed at generating regional media coverage, with visits to radio stations in the morning, followed by tasting sessions in town centres and public places in the afternoon
