MPS-Florimark has added another credential to its group of certificates that ensure quality throughout the supply chain in the Netherlands.

MPS already issues the MPS-Florimark Production to producers, and a certificate for traders called the MPS-Florimark Trade. Now it has developed a third certificate aimed at actions called MPS-Florimark Auction.

For full certification, the applicant must satisfy the requirements of two module certificates aimed at guaranteeing quality: the ISO 9001:2000 and the specially developed MPS-GPA (Good Practice Auction) that combines both environmental and social aspects.

Co-operative seller of ornamental plants, FloraHolland Rijnsburg is the first auction in the world to meet the requirements for the new MPS-Florimark Auction Certificate.

Jaap de Mol, branch manager of FloraHolland Rijnsburg, received the three certificates in January from Robert Roodenburg, board member of MPS and director of the Association of Wholesale Trade in Horticultural Products.

To implement its certification requirements, FloraHolland Rijnsburg uses its MPS-DigiGuide, a digital computer programme in which all the appropriate certification requirements are listed and in which every auction employee can report their activities relevant to certification.
