Morrisons is to build a new supermarket to serve the people of Cardiff - on stilts.
The new store concept is to be build on a the long-term vacant former dairy site on Newport Road, Cardiff.
The distinctive design will allow under-store parking and will created hundreds of jobs in the area.
Mark Thompson, development executive at Morrisons, said: "We are very excited about the development proposal for a new Morrisons store on Newport Road, Cardiff. Not only will the foodstore create hundreds of new local jobs, it will be a design first for Wales, as we have proposed a bespoke 'stilted' design concept.
“Our plans will help to regenerate this gateway location by bringing this derelict site back into reproductive economic use. With the nearest Morrisons store over five miles away, local residents' will now have improved choice and competition for their weekly shop".
Full details of this proposal for Cardiff, including plans and computer-generated images will be on display in the area on Monday and Tuesday.
