Peter Durose, who left his role as at Tesco last week, has joined recruitment and training specialist MorePeople as associate director.
He will work alongside chairman Guy Moreton and non-executive director Michael Paske to further develop MorePeople’s director level recruitment services, using his retail and supply-chain expertise to add to its portfolio of consultancy services.
Durose has more than 20-years-blue chip experience, having also had spells with Boots and Roche Pharmaceuticals.
A retail and brand specialist, he was responsible for the introduction of the Tesco brand into Malaysia and established the Tesco international buying office in Hong Kong.
Back in the UK, he spent the last three years as category director for produce and horticulture with the UK’s largest retailer, overseeing its second largest single category with a retail value of £3 billion.
“We believe that Peter’s appointment further demonstrates MorePeople’s commitment to developing a sector leading people solutions business across all areas of the fresh produce and horticultural supply chain. It also underlines our principle of only recruiting team members with practical hands on experience that is directly relevant to the areas they operate in,” said Moreton.
“We are currently working on a number of exciting projects…where we believe that Peter’s experience and expertise will be a great asset to both us and all of our clients.”
