Market Intelligence Services (MIS), has announced a new online retail price service. Subscribers to the industry-owned supermarket monitoring service, www.retail-prices.co.uk, can now check prices specific to stores and products rather than having to see all data on one screen.

The new system allows users to compare specific products in selected retail outlets with their required date range. It also shows the country of origin and the promotion mechanic for the product by clicking on the date.

MIS commercial manager Tim Mudge said: “This development gives our customers the ability to look at the data that they want rather than having to sift through stores and products that are not applicable to them.

“It is part of our ongoing development of the site and is just the start of our goal to give a flexible easy to access service to the industry.”

MIS originally launched an online service a year ago and since then modifications have been made to the site allowing data download in different formats and more detailed information on the screen. Since July 2008 the site is updated twice a week to show price changes on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Mudge said: “We have also seen a lot more interest in bespoke reports and services required by our customers as we are the most cost effective way of getting into stores to monitor prices, check supplier codes and note packaging changes with our team of collectors who monitor stores right across the country.”
