Market Intelligence Services (MIS) has appointed Heather Briggs as business development manager.

MIS, the producer industry owned supermarket price monitoring service, has appointed Briggs to promote its unique supermarket data services. She joins the MIS team after working in the fresh produce industry in the Canary Islands.

“Growers need sound knowledge of price movements at the end of the chain,” Briggs said. “With Market Intelligence Services, companies have access to information that can really help them in their decisions as they can see current prices at a glance as well as being able to compare them with our historic data.”

MIS aims to help producers, packers and importers strengthen their position in the market with up-to-date prices and other information such as promotions, country of origin and packaging information. Collections are made twice a week to reflect the changes in the supermarkets as soon as they occur and Briggs will be overseeing the work of the collecting team and delivery to customers.

The company has been compiling price reports for nearly 15 years, and recently invested in a new web-based system to make its service easy to use and access.

MIS also offers bespoke services for companies who request reports that look in more depth at product ranges, facilitating the strategic decision making process.
