The Mini Sirius multihead weigher

The Mini Sirius multihead weigher

Specialist weighing machine manufacturer DWS Worcester Ltd has launched a new combination multihead weigher, Mini Sirius, especially for the convenience food market.

The Kidderminster-based company has spent years developing a multihead weigher that meets the demands of the convenience food market, where quick changeover times and high standards of hygiene are paramount.

The machines have been designed and built to order in the UK, and each machine can be tailored both mechanically and in its software to the customer’s particular requirements.

Mini Sirius is mobile, has a footprint of less than two square metres, and only requires an elevator or similar feed system to supply product to it. Once the product is in the feed hopper, no more labour is required until the filled packs are removed from the line.

The machine’s integrated feed system can handle products such as cut fresh fruit, glace cherries, grated cheese, meats in sauce, cooked rice, and all types of pasta. A number of models are available including 10, 14, and 16 weigh heads, to offer speeds in excess of current hand-loaded lines. This means that a five-month payback on a typical two-shift operation is easily achievable.

The Mini Sirius has been specifically designed for high-risk food environments, and all parts are easily removable without the need for tools.

The control system is Windows-based, using DWS software, which is extremely operator friendly and comprehensive.
