A new purpose-built facility has been opened by Middlesbrough-based wholesaler Original Produce Company and its sister companies Original Flowers and QFS.
The Riverside site is hoped to be a platform for future growth by enhancing operations and maximising efficiency.
The companies were set up in 2002 and initially operated from separate units outside the wholesale market, but the requirement for additional space and demand for updated facilities made the move essential.
Directors Jill Scott and John Bell told FPJ they have been delighted by the responses of both customers and staff following the move to the new facility.
Bell said: “We are extremely pleased that we have successfully completed phase one and two of our business plan, on time and on target. We are fully aware of the challenging nature of our business but, with the right strategy and team structure, there is massive potential for development.”
