A new executive recruitment business specialising in two key areas - the food and drink supply chain and hospitality - has set up in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Co-directors Brian Hutchison and Nicola Carden have set up a joint venture company - Merston Peters Stamford Ltd - in conjunction with executive recruitment business Merston Peters Ltd.

The business aims to provide its customers with the right person for the right job - first time round. Hutchison said: “So many businesses fail to find the right person at the first time of asking and the impact can be costly in so many ways. It generates unnecessary time, effort and resource in having to repeat the process again. And in today's frenetic business marketplace companies cannot afford such luxuries.

"Here at Merston Peters Stamford we are committed to ensuring that doesn't happen. It sounds simple to say that we can supply you with the right person but in reality it can prove difficult without the right approach. That is why we adopt a hands-on approach in identifying, selecting and attracting people who will deliver real added value to a business and who have the desire and potential to make a difference.

"We do that by fully understanding the culture and strategy of all our clients and then remaining actively involved throughout the whole process, right through to the interview and final selection stage. We work with our clients as well as for them."

The business launched earlier this year. "We are delighted with the way things have gone so far," said Carden. "Our joint experience of the food and drink and hospitality markets has enabled us to make the sort of start we hoped for."

Currently, the majority of the MPS business is directed towards the food and drink supply chain market. Hutchison added: "In this sphere of activity we are looking to supply quality candidates in all functions from primary production, food processing through to retailing."
