Mersey Docks and Harbour Company has posted a trading summary with year-end approaching.
At the time of the interim statement in September 2003, the board's belief was that the full-year outcome would be similar to that of 2002. With the benefit of the results to date, the board remains confident of that position.
Although it is expected fresh produce imports will show a small decline from 2002. The second half of 2003 has shown tentative signs of improvement in economic conditions and these are reflected in the outlook for 2004. The fresh produce sector is modestly expectant for an improved 2004.
