Spanish tomato producers have won a battle in their fight to level what they claim is an unfair playing field with Morocco. The committee on petitions of the European Parliament backed the request of Spanish producer-exporters federation Fepex to reform the entry price system.
A spokesman for Tenerife tomato growers association Aceto welcomed the move. “All we are asking is that Morocco complies with the quantities that are agreed. We just want reciprocity and a change in methodology to give greater transparency.”
