Fast-food giants McDonalds has become the leading purchaser of apples in the US foodservice sector with the launch of a new product.
The fruit and walnut salad, launched across the US this week, will see 55 million lbs of apples sold to consumers this year, the company claimed.
McDonald’s move towards health, with its Premium Salad range has led to the restaurant chain serving up more than 600 million servings of fresh veggies since 2003.
The company’s fruit and walnut salad is its latest effort to help customers realize a balanced diet by offering a wide variety of menu options and serving sizes.
