MBMG has agreed to acquire the trade and trading assets of potato supplier Warrell Morton & Company Ltd.
The completion of the sale is expected in the next four weeks, but it is still subject to contract.
The independent Essex-based firm supplies some 20,000 tonnes of fresh and prepared potatoes to the retail and foodservice sectors both in the UK and mainland Europe.
Employees at Warrell Morton will be consulted with in full regarding the proposed sale and to discuss the operating options open to MBMG following the acquisition of the business.
MBMG managing director Pepe Bascetta said: “It is anticipated that the proposed integration of the Warrell Morton business will take place over the next there months and it will be an exciting addition to the MBMG business.’
