MBM Chatteris raises £763 for Macmillan Cancer Relief

In support of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on 27th September 2002, MBM Produce Ltd at Chatteris raised £763.43 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Organised by MBM Organics production supervisors Julie Rayner and Julie Russell, with help on the day from Bridget Stevenson and Margaret Baker, the coffee morning stretched across the three production shifts from 8.15am in the morning to 9pm that evening.

The event was held in the staff canteen on the Chatteris site and all vending machines were switched off for the day. MBM employees were instead able to buy cakes made and donated by colleagues together with cups of coffee and tea.

Some 1.5 million people across the UK joined in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning 2002 to help Macmillan Cancer Relief towards their target of £3.5 million to fund more specialist Macmillan nurses, doctors and other health professionals.
