JP Fruit Distributors Limited has appointed David Maynard as managing director, with effect from February 1. Maynard joined JP Fruit in 1985 and was appointed operations director in 2001.

After eighteen years as chief executive officer, David Read is stepping down as he moves towards retirement. Read remains a director of JP Fruit Distributors and the Jamaican parent company, and will continue to serve the company in a consultancy capacity.

This latest appointment further strengthens the JP management team, reinforcing Keith Sadler's sales and marketing expertise as well as the strengths ofthe recently appointed finance director, Karen Scott.
