The Pesticides Safety Directorate is to host a seminar workshop to unravel the complexities of Maximum Residue Levels (MRL).

The event, in York on November 6, aims to furnish delegates with the information they need to adapt to impact of regulation 396/2005. It will provide training and updated guidance via a series of presentations and a practical workshop. Delegates will hear about developments in the area, and new information provided the European Commission and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

The training will explain the revised MRL processes associated with the new regulation, and explain the legal and practical processes behind the setting and monitoring of MRLs.

The PSD will also compare and contrast the consumer risk assessment models used in Europe, and run through its own process for MRL submissions.

The cost per delegate is £350, and applications for places are invited now as places are limited. Go to www.pesticides.gov.uk/corporate.asp?id=936
