Award winning marketing organisation The Quintus Partnership Ltd has signed up three more production companies, bringing the group’s grower membership to nine.
New members Tamar Nurseries and Dominic Harrington Nurseries, both based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, bring hardy nursery stock to the group, while the Gedney bulb company specialises in the production of hardy perennials.
Steve Pollington, group business development director, said: “I firmly believe this is the future for UK horticulture. Most of our members are specialising in the production of single product categories, which facilitates a structure for substantial economic savings in the production process, and offers a wealth of product knowledge through experience and attention to detail we are able to give to the product.”
The Quintus Partnership was founded in 1996 by five specialist growers with the aim of consolidating and co-ordinating their products for UK multiple retailers.
Its success was marked in 2004 when it won a retail award for demonstrating a co-ordinated but direct alternative for product consolidation.
