Marks & Spencer has reinforced its commitment to packaging innovation with the announcement that it is to provide the chair of the judging panel for the Starpack Industry Awards 2007, said organisers IOP: The Packaging Society at the PPMA Show.
The supermarket will also sponsor an award for an Environmentally Friendly Delicatessen Pack with the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) at the Student and Schools Starpack Awards.
Sally Bowden, on the M&S packaging team, said: “I am looking forward to promoting the Starpack brand and sending the message to packaging suppliers that innovation is the key to the industry.”
The Starpack Awards, which will be held alongside the Total Processing & Packaging Exhibition 2007, will cover the food and drink sector, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, as well as packaging design and environmental awareness.
The 2007 event will be held on May 15 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
Entry forms will be available from November.
