Marks & Spencer has continued its spate of miniature produce launches with a new Baby Iceberg lettuce aimed at singletons.

The lettuce hit shelves this week in an exclusive deal between G’s Marketing and M&S and follows the retailer’s introduction of both Tiny Pears and Baby Lemons in the last year.

The Baby Icebergs are 75 per cent smaller than normal Iceberg lettuces when fully grown and are grown in the Cambridgeshire fenlands.

M&S said the product is “ideal for one person households “ and is “convenient and minimises waste”.

M&S Salad technologist Simon Coupe said: “It was 30 years ago this year that we started selling the Iceberg lettuce and its been a customer favourite ever since. We are delighted to introduce a ‘baby’ version which contains all the same sweetness, crispiness and crunch.”

The Baby Iceberg lettuce went on sale nationwide at M&S last week priced 75p.
