IFST accreditation for M&S's technologist-training programme

Marks & Spencer's continuing professional development scheme (CPD) for its food technologists has won Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) accreditation.

Marks & Spencer claims to be the first retailer to join forces with the professional body for food scientists and technologists in the food industry.

"We are extremely proud of our top-class team of food technologists, however we continually encourage everyone to extend their professional knowledge and skills through our now leading training programme," said David Gregory, head of food technology at Marks & Spencer. "The CPD scheme offers our technologists independent accreditation and endorsement by the foremost professional qualifying body for the food industry, which in turn enhances the professional status of our team both in the UK and world-wide."
