Marks and Spencer is reportedly considering changing the name on its store fascias to “Your M&S”.
The chain’s Edgware Road store in London is being used as the guinea pig and M&S will gauge customer response before deciding whether to roll out the green and white logo across its 440 British stores.
This is a major departure for the group, whose Marks & Spencer name has appeared above the group’s stores since market trader Michael Marks and cashier from a wholesale company Tom Spencer opened their first shop in the 1890s.
