The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) is to host a briefing in Manchester over changes in plant health regulations.

Fera Plant Health is introducing changes to its procedures for Plant Health inspections at certain Ports of Entry, following the increased provision of Inspectors at these sites.

The meeting will take place at 11am at the World Freight Terminal in Manchester on 15 April for importers and agents using Manchester.

The changes came into force on 1 April for Heathrow and Manchester, and will include significantly increased levels of physical inspections and changes to current working patterns.

These changes will be introduced at Gatwick and other ports later as more Inspectors are recruited.

The FPC is organising briefings with Fera to help members understand the changes.
