A series of major speakers from across government, the media and industry have been announced for the Food Foundation's Vegetable Summit on 24 October.
Defra minister George Eustice and EFRA select committee chair Neil Parish represent Parliament at the event, while Tesco food policy adviser Tim Smith and NFU deputy president Minette Batters will give the industry view.
A number of broadcasters and journalists are also taking part, including TV doctor and Embarrassing Bodies presenter Dawn Harper, Eat Well for Less? host Chris Bavin, food journalist Bee Wilson and Guardian vlogger Kathleen Kerridge.
Other speakers include Sir Michael Marmot, professor of epidemiology and public health at University College London; Sir John Hegarty, founding partner of Saatchi & Saatchi and founder of BartleBogle Hegarty; Kantar Worldpanel director Giles Quick; and social entrepreneur and Our Kitchen founder Sharon Goodyer.
The event, which takes place at The Chamber in London's City Hall, also includes a series of 'Pledging Panels', which will focus on particular topics and look to garner support. The panels focus on Eating Out, Shopping and Eating at Home, Production, Towns and Cities, Children, and a People's Panel.
