Symbol group Londis is getting its UK strawberries on shelf nation-wide just 36 hours after picking.
Fruit is harvested in Hampshire and, claims parent company Musgrave Retail Partners, its 36-hour commitment beats the large supermarket chains by 12 hours. Each Londis punnet of strawberries has a promise ticket tucked in among the red fruit, pinpointing for each customer of the exact location where they were harvested.
Retails have been slashed too this week at Londis down from £3.99 for 400g to £1.99. Four-packs of peaches and four-packs of nectarines are on offer this week too at £1 each.
