Loadhog's latest trials with B&Q have proved successful

B & Q has announced successful trials of the award winning Loadhog product, which aims to eliminate tonnes of strapping and shrink wrapping.

The home improvement and garden centre retailer has been trialing the product with one of its external suppliers, hand tool manufacturers Alan Wasden Ltd. The aim of the trial was to evaluate the product, which was originated by Sheffield's Gripple organisation.

Following the trials, Steve Taylor of B & Q Logistics Development team, said: “We were impressed with the mechanism to fasten the lid to the pallet and it functioned well. The next stage is to perform a cost benefit analysis of the system.”

Steve Wasden, managing director of Alan Wasden Ltd, said: “We are missing Loadhog now that the trial has finished and we have to shrink wrap pallets once again.”

Loadhog's sales and marketing manager Simon de Jaeghere said: “Large retailers have signed up for our trials and are keen to support new environmental initiatives. The operation is simple and safe with many benefits.”
