Lingarden is set to unveil its £500,000 modernised factory, which prepares thousands of England's Quality Plants for sale in UK supermarkets. North East Cambridgeshire MP Malcolm Moss will officially open the site on October 27.

The factory is equipped with the latest labelling and packaging equipment to support plans to expand sales of England's garden shrubs and houseplants in UK supermarkets and DIY centres.

Plants division business unit director Andrew Storey said: "Our expansion strategy will help our key customers meet increasing consumer demand for quality garden shrubs and houseplants.

This is the first phase of investment by Lingarden who acquired England's in May 2000 to complement its existing cut flower business.
