Lingarden has announced it wants to become the premier 'one-stop-shop' supplier of cut flowers, houseplants and garden plants to UK supermarkets, DIY stores and mail order consumers.
It set out its intentions at the 'Blooming Marvellous Supplier Day' for almost 200 key growers and suppliers from around the world.
In the past two years, Lingarden has sold 700 million cut flowers, 10m garden plants, and 6m houseplants. The company is now building a new £500,000 packing facility at Wisbech.
Business unit director for plants Andrew Storey said: 'Gardening is one of the few £100m opportunities in UK multiples with plant sales growing at 24 per cent per year.'
