Lidl is gearing up for peak pumpkin sales and said it expects to sell over 70,000 of the seasonal squash on Saturday 29 October.
The discounter is promoting its British-grown pumpkins ahead of Halloween, which takes place next week, at a discount price of 79p, reduced from 99p.
Last year, Lidl sold 200,000 pumpkins and said it expects sales to increase by a 50 per cent in 2016.
Lidl pumpkins are produced by Robert Stacey, at Freshfields Farm in Huntingdon.
