LCL Group will be transferred from NYK Reefers Limited to NYK Logistics Group, with a subsequent change in personnel at the head of the company.

The strategic decision is aimed at creating a cohesive partnership between existing network business and the non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) activities of NYK Logistics Group.

Consequently, LCL ceo Hiroshi Kawamura and chairman Mikio Nakamura will stand down from their respective positions on March 21.

The new ceo is Kazuhiko Sotome, current managing director of Logistics NYK Group Europe, and the new chairman Hiroaki Tsuchiya assumes the role after leaving his current position as corporate officer of NYK Tokyo.

Mikio Nakamura will remain on the board of LCL Sweden AB, while chief financial officer Ian Robinson will continue to serve LCL Sweden AB.

Kazuhiko Sotome has a long experience in the South American trade and is currently running the quality management team in NYK Logistics Tokyo. His career also includes a position as the IT director of NYK Logistics Europe in London.

Hiroshi Kawamura will leave for Tokyo to assume a position in the Car Carrier Project Group in NYK Line Tokyo.

The announcement was made in a statement by LCL Sweden AB chairman Mikio Nahamura.
