Netherlands-based packaging company LC Packaging has acquired Image Packaging Ltd forming new company Image Flexibles (UK) Ltd in the process.

LC Packaging, already a long-established packaging and machinery supplier, has sites in eight countries throughout Europe. with its headquarters in the Netherlands, with annual turnover in excess of €90 million (£80.4m).

New ownership has enabled Image Flexibles, which will now share extensive warehousing with LC Packaging, to provide competitively sourced products in volume, with the level of service that has become expected by the customers it has served over the last 30 years.

Image Flexibles hopes it can benefit from the experience and financial support of LC Packaging in sourcing product, thus enabling them to maximise the already strong relationships which both companies enjoy, with quality suppliers throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and the rest of the world.

The new company is focused on providing consumable packaging for the fresh produce industry. Image Flexibles' product range extends to clear and printed polypropylene (OPP) and polyolefin shrink films, knitted and extruded netting and any consumable packaging used in modern production facilities.

They also hold extensive stocks of many of the ‘standard’ fresh produce bags, including gem lettuce, celery and iceberg lettuce, as well as a facility to manufacture bespoke produce bags.

Peter Biggadike, manager at Image Flexibles, said: “New ownership of Image (Flexibles) has come at a very exciting time and has been a fantastic move forward for us. We are now in a position to provide quality packaging in volume, at very competitive prices, and still maintain those high levels of service that we have always provided.

“Our products and services complement the products that LC Packaging have been supplying for many years and so both companies will benefit greatly from this new relationship. The immediate short-term results have been very impressive and we look forward to working together with LC Packaging in the coming years.”
