Langmead Farms is celebrating the launch of an innovative salad offer under the Tesco Finest brand.

The company has created four 20g packs of unusual salad packs. Priced at 79p each, the leaves can be sprinkled on the consumer’s usual salad to enhance the taste and add to the colour, texture and nutritional value.

The range features red mustard leaves, red stem radish, pea shoots and broccoli shoots.

Paul Beynon, from West Sussex-based Langmead, said the move towards a “mix-and-match” salad approach is a growing trend: “Research we have carried out has indicated that consumers want their salads to be more individualist.

“Consumers have reported that when having a dinner party they get more compliments on the salad mix than anything else. It’s been a highlight from focus groups that consumers want salad to be inspiring as well as healthy, so we launched this range with Tesco in order to reinvigorate the salad sector.”
