The fight to save convenience store chain Kwik Save will have input from accountancy firm KPMG, it emerged today.

KPMG has been called in to work with Kwik Save chief executive Paul Niklas and his team to advise on options for the business.

An executive close to KPMG told The Daily Telegraph: “We are hopeful that the business can be saved.”

Kwik Save announced plans to close 79 of its stores - one third of its outlets - with the loss of hundreds of jobs.
