During a festive ceremony at Berkel en Rodenrijs, Peter Koppert, one of Koppert Biological Systems’ founders, drove the first pile for the company’s new offices and international R&D centre.
This took place on January 26, in the presence of the Heembouw construction company, Koppert staff and their families, and guests.
Koppert’s new central location for the offices and R&D centre will lie in a new complex on the site of the former auctions at the Veilingweg 14, Berkel en Rodenrijs.
The construction of the new premises will take 18 months to complete and will house a variety of office functions, as well as the international R&D centre, where research will be carried out into entomology (beneficial insects and mites), microbiology (beneficial nematodes, moulds and bacteria) and pollination.
A number of storage and packaging rooms next to the new offices will be thoroughly modernised. These facilities play an important role in the distribution of products to the national market and abroad, as the packaging and transport conditions are vital elements in guaranteeing the quality of the biological beneficials and natural pollinators.
