Kloosterboer, Vlissingen has successfully reached the standard required for seaport terminals to be awarded 360 Quality certification.

Kloosterboer is a Netherlands-based logistics service provider to the food industry, with coldstores located in IJmuiden, Elst, Rotterdam and Vlissingen (Flushing). Its fruit-related logistics activities are concentrated in Vlissingen, but the firm recently took a 50 per cent share in Seabrex (Rotterdam), one of Europe’s biggest fruit handlers.

Kloosterboer and Seabrex together handle around 1.2 million pallets of fruit and vegetables annually. The Vlissingen site comprises 27 hectares and around 140,000sqm of storage space, including capacity for 30,000 pallets of fruit.

Inspection and certification were conducted by ISACert, a Netherlands-based certification body active in more than 40 countries worldwide and accredited by RvA and UKAS. ISACert focuses on food and food-related audit and inspection schemes (BRC, IFS, ISO 22000, HACCP, etc) and has recently become registered with the 360 Quality Association for the inspection of terminals.

Another 15-20 seaport terminals worldwide will be certified this year. To date, 90 reefer vessels have been certified in accordance with the 360 Quality Code.

Maestro Reefers has recently become a member of the 360 Quality Association.
