Kemira GrowHow and Terra Industries have joined forces to create a new company, which will be responsible for both companies’ fertiliser and associated process chemical businesses in the UK and Ireland.

GrowHow UK will begin trading on October 1 from its new head office at Ince concentrating the two companies’ commitment to ‘manufacturing products to the highest levels of quality and service at a competitive cost’, focusing on the production of ammonium nitrate NPK, NPKS and NS products, with Terra’s ‘blue bag’ livery being adopted across the product range.

The operation will be run by new chief executive Paul Thompson, who has moved from his post as vice president of sales and marketing at Terra’s headquarters in Iowa.

He said: “This is an exciting development and a true integration of two great fertiliser businesses. It will allow us to improve our competitiveness in what is now a global market securing a sustainable future for our customers and employees.”

David Stacey, the new commercial director, added: “Growers will continue to have access to world class fertilisers and to a full range of advice and support services through our own GrowHow Advisers or from the distributor GrowHow Fieldsmen.”
