New appointment has extensive experience to help supplier meets its sustainability goals
Veg and flower multinational Flamingo has appointed Rosalind Kainyah MBE as a non-executive director and chair of its Sustainability & Community Committee.
Kainyah is a highly experienced NED and brings over 30 years’ experience at senior management, executive and board level.
With a background in corporate and environmental law, government relations, political risk management and sustainability across global listed and private businesses, Flamingo said she is well placed to support the company on the delivery of its sustainable business strategy.
Kainyah will work closely with the board and the senior leadership team to drive the group’s sustainability agenda, the company said, ensuring that Flamingo ”realises its ambition of becoming the world’s most resilient, best-value farm-direct grower with the lowest environmental footprint.”
Olivia Streatfield, CEO of Flaming Group International, said: “Rosalind’s deep expertise in sustainability and extensive experience working with businesses across Africa make her a fantastic addition to our board. Her appointment strengthens our ability to invest in and develop our approach to sustainability as a driver of business resilience and success in diverse global markets.
“At Flamingo, our empowerment model is central to how we build a sustainable business — enabling our people, partner growers, communities, and customers to adapt, innovate, and thrive in a fast-changing world. We look forward to working with Rosalind to accelerate progress on this crucial agenda.”
Kainyah added: “From the moment I first met the Flamingo Group team, it was clear that this is a business with huge potential, whose values and commitment to sustainability and empowerment align ideally with mine.
“I’m excited to get started on helping the company evolve and embed its approach to sustainability into strategy and operations, meeting the rising expectations of customers and driving meaningful impact across its global markets and communities.”
