Red Tractor Assurance will celebrate British farming by sponsoring a cutter boat rowed by farmers as part of the Jubilee flotilla along the Thames.

The food quality assurance mark is sponsoring sailing charity Ahoy, which works with disadvantaged youths and people with disabilities through water-based activities.

Ahoy’s cutter, rowed by key representatives from the UK poultry and farming industries, will raise awareness on a special day according to Gloucestershire-based poultry farmer, Charles Bourns.

Bourns said: “The event is a momentous occasion to celebrate everything that’s great about this country.

“Our heritage in farming in the UK is something which we, as an industry, are extremely proud of. Under the Red Tractor Scheme we have developed world class standards of food production and the Jubilee celebrations are a great opportunity to promote this.”
