In celebration of British Tomato Week, JR Holland will be ensuring all of its customers, which include schools, local authorities, universities and niche restaurants in the North East, receive the best of British-sourced tomatoes in a bid to encourage customers to make the switch and buy British.

With the aim of encouraging consumers to support the local economy through buying British, the Tomato Growers' Association pushes the message that for fresh, wholesome and quality tomatoes, you need look no further than the UK.

As a strong advocate of freshly sourced and high-quality produce, JR Holland has thrown its weight behind British Tomato Week, giving all of its clients, including all North East-based school children and university students, a chance to sample the finest fresh tomatoes from the UK.

Dennis Hutchinson, managing director of JR Holland Food Services, said: “It’s a pleasure to be involved in supporting freshly sourced British tomatoes. With over 25 years of fresh produce heritage, we pride ourselves on our ability to locally source produce and support the British economy.
