In a bold move to give customers a behind-the-scenes look at its packing process, JR Holland Food Services has launched a ‘Live’ section on its website which features a real-time feed.
The Gateshead-based business, which services a number of private companies, restaurants and local authorities in the region, prides itself on outstanding quality and service. This new development is the latest in a line of initiatives to promote transparency, accountability and traceability within the business.
Streamed to its website, the video feed shows the JR Holland team picking and packing its fresh produce orders as and when they happen. The live feed is available to view on the company’s website - www.jrholland.co.uk/livefeed.co.uk - and provides a unique opportunity to view the packing process at one of the North East’s leading food service providers.
Dennis Hutchinson, managing director of JR Holland Food Services, said: “We are very confident in the standard and quality of our produce and our service. Our live feed is a way of allowing our customers to see aspects of our business which they would not normally have the chance to - so that they can see for themselves how we operate and how high our standards are.
“We want our customers to be confident that their produce is coming from approved suppliers, that it is handled correctly and that it arrives in peak condition. We have also included the names of all our suppliers on our website so that our customers know exactly where our produce comes from.
“JR Holland is a firm supporter of the 5 A DAY initiative and we believe that if more people have access to information regarding where fresh produce comes from and how it is handled, it will encourage them to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables.”
