Harper Adams University College, the largest provider of land-based higher education courses, continues to have an excellent employment record despite the recession.
Figures produced by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) shows that university graduates were encountering difficulties in finding employment compared to previous years, due to the tough economic climate.
Despite this, 96.1 percent of Harper Adams graduates in 2008 are now in full-time employment, showing that the institution prepares their students well for entering the job market.
Noel Morrison, academic registrar, attributes the success to the vocational nature of teaching at Harper Adams. He said: “We believe that one of the biggest factors in their success is the sandwich work placement year, coupled with quality teaching and strong links with leading rural businesses.”
Harper Adams continues to liaise with their students after graduation, enabling them to maximise their chances of employment.
