Nigel Jenney and Teresa Wickham have joined the board of Covent Garden Market Authority for a three-year term.
Jenney is CEO of the Fresh Produce Consortium and a board member of Freshfel. Wickham holds several senior management positions including adviser to Sainsbury’s agricultural team and chair of East Malling Research Fundraising Committee.
Pam Alexander, chair of Covent Garden Market Authority, said: “I am delighted to welcome Nigel and Teresa to the board. Together they bring many years of diverse senior experience of the fresh produce sector, including wholesale markets, and both have impressive networks across the whole supply chain.”
Elsewhere, Michael Paske and John Wilson have stepped down after nine years service saw them become the board’s longest-serving members.
Farming minister David Heath said: “I am grateful to John Wilson and Michael Paske for their contributions to New Covent Garden Market. I’m also pleased that Teresa Wickham and Nigel Jenney are joining such a strong team which will lead the Market through this exciting yet challenging time.”
Covent Garden Market Authority currently has 200 tenant companies and is undergoing a major redevelopment of the site.
