Israeli brand Jaffa may be used on Chinese-grown citrus marketed in the Far East and in the former Soviet republics, after a request by a high-ranking Chinese agricultural delegation during a visit to the Citrus Marketing Board of Israel (CMBI).

The Chinese citrus experts plan to acclimate in China several Israeli-developed easy peeler varieties, Shamouti oranges, and the Sweetie green grapefruit variety, as well as to promote the export of citrus from Israel to China.

CMBI general manager Mena Davidson said that the board is keen on expanding the range of citrus varieties marketed throughout the world under the Jaffa brand.
