Italian packhouse technology spcialist Unitec SpA has launched a flexible electronic cups sorter line onto the market, able to process 15 different kinds of fruit shapes including pears at a 50 per cent processing cost saving.

The new sorter is available as single channel system UNI ONE jolly, and with two channels, UNI TWIN jolly. The equipment is suitable for apples, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, kiwifruit, pears - including the sensitive Abate Fetel - kakifruit, oranges, easypeelers, lemons and tomatoes and even long narrow lines such as courgettes and cucumbers.

Both sorters can also be operated by non-technical staff and they also feature an accumulation system.
