Carmel strawberry sendings are set to kick off at the end of November, with Israeli varieties Orly and Yuval.
The fruit was grown in the Sharon throughout the mild autumn.
The varieties were developed by Fertiseeds, an Israeli company that aims to cultivate unique strawberry varieties.
Exporter Agrexco, owner of the Carmel brand, has worked with Fertiseeds to continue to invest in new varieties within the framework of an agreement signed a few months ago, which gave Agrexco exclusive worldwide distribution rights.
Both Yuval and Orly have at least eight per cent brix, a full red colour and a long shelf life.
The strawberry export season will run until the end of March 2010.
